Racism and Steryeotypes in Advertising

the images that shocked me the most were the first ones shown about african american slavery. i find the more recent ads of steryeotypes are pretty typical, you see them a lot today and i believe most people go about them unnoticed. the only ways we have changed from the past is that we have made our racism more discreet, it is still there but we have hidden them better than they did in the past. some other steryeotypes that have impacted our age group is the different styles that each musician has for the types of music. Rock musicians are supposed to be all gangster and tattooed, while country singers are supposed to be nice, and well kept. Rap artists are really strong and in with the latest styles and easy listening like michael buble are really preppy and well kept.

friend opinion

To me, the most important qualities of a friend are to be loyal, nice, able to talk about anything, you should be able to trust them and enjoy being around them. now that, is my opinion of the ideal friend. A friend should be someone who is willing to help you out when you are down or need a hand, they should do what they can to help you no matter where they are or what time it is, and should basicially be family.

There are many similartiries between this and the first chapter of Lord of the Flies. Kids get trapped on an island after a transportation failure and no adults are there. They get a leader and use a conch to call meetings. there is a group of kids who become so called "hunters" and become a separate group from the rest of the kids. they use glasses to start a fire, they cannot successfully build a hut. some differences are there are boys and girls, they can move across to another island by swinging on a rope or walking across a tree, and i dont believe any kids will die in this simpsons episode. the writer and producer probably made those changes as he didnt want to be charged for plageurism from Lord of the Flies, he also thought it would be more child appropriate if no kids died, and funnier if they included boys and girls in the episode.
